Beta-carotene can turn you orange!

Orange and yellow colored vegetables are very important to eat because they have beta-carotene. Beta-carotene is changed to Vitamin A in our body and is an antioxidant, which means it can protect our cells from damage. It is also good for our eyes and may even help prevent cancer. Which orange and yellow vegetables can you think of that have beta-carotene? Did you think of carrots, sweet potatoes, and squash? Fun fact: if you eat too many foods with beta-carotene, it can actually turn your skin orange and you’ll look like an Oompa Loompa from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory! That would look silly!
